Take Off That Tag

You see, due to Myopia, I started using medicated Eye-glasses while I was much younger (5-7 years old) and as a result of that, it earned me lots of funny and weird names like: oju igo{bottle eyes}, 4 eyes e.t.c

It got worse in secondary school because the names then graduated to One Eyed Sunday, Harry-Potter e.t.c. In-fact, In-short, the one that scattered my head was that, because I was actively involved in the music club, one very sarcastic character in class then, started calling me Dj 3eye. As soon as the girls in class picked that name up.....you know the rest

Truth be told mehnn, Those names made me feel less of myself, they made me always very angry, bitter and always shed tears continuously {but in secret though}, if not...........you know secondary school nah..

It even got to a point where I lost  interest in going to school because the more I tried to stop them from calling me those names, the more these wonderful people continued.
Then one day, I heard my pastor teach on "knowing my identity in Christ" and he said something that struck me. He said "You can't stop people from calling you names or giving you nasty tags but you can choose to either answer or ignore them".

So, I chose to start ignoring them. As soon as I started ignoring them, the names and tags started reducing until they totally faded away.
#Yes I still wear glasses today but with swag
You see my friend, Stop going through life wearing those nasty tags which friends, colleagues, classmates even your parents might have placed on you.

Remind yourself what God says about You. He says: you are a royal priesthood, a peculiar people, a holy nation, chosen generation and the Apple of his eye.  Kindly, tear those nasty tags off today and embrace your new identity. Today, I walk Lifting my head up high and walking boldly, in power, favor and miracles because I know who I am.

  1. It is always better to concentrate on what God says about you instead.

CHAPTER 8 of Wrong but Right? Are you still missing it?
Tunmise stepped into her room and took it in. This was her part of the house, she thought. She was so attached to this room she had decorated her place in Ibadan similarly. But who could blame her? She had stayed here practically all her life and her mother had kept on redecorating to accommodate her age as she grew up. Continue here:
