A more valuable pursuit in life.

The greatest and more valuable pursuit which is greater than the pursuit of money is the pursuit of spiritual power/spiritual dominion. Talking about spiritual power it means taking charge of different spheres of life. The book of Genesis 1:26 and 27 which says;

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.(KJV)

And also Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.(KJV).

Looking at both scriptures, God focused on spiritual power, dominion, and authority at the beginning of its spiritual relationship with man and at the end of the physical relationship with man. He wants us to be in charge of circumstances, environment, and creations. He never wanted us to be victims of circumstance (death, loss of job, financial problems e.t.c).

When you have this power, you dictate or determine what happens in your life and family, the outcome of tour environment. You are in charge of everything around you. The power is like an invisible force field surrounding you. You are destined to dictate what happens to you.

Let’s look at 7 main sources of spiritual power; 

• Power released in the Holy Spirit: the Holy Spirit is an embodiment of things released in you. Acts 1:8; But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.(KJV)

• Power of the word; when the word of God is declared there is power in it to accomplish a lot of things. Hebrews 4:12; For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.(KJV)

• Power unleashed by the cross: Jesus dealt with the devil on the cross where he was been crucified. Colossians 2:14; He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross.(HCSB).

• Power in the blood of Jesus: Hebrews 9:13; For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh :(KJV)                                              Hebrews 9:14; How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?(KJV)

• Power in the name of Jesus: Philippians 2:9; Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name(KJV)

• Power let loosed when the gospel is proclaimed: Romans 1:16; For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.(KJV).

• Lastly power unleashed by prayers: James 5:15; And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.(KJV)                            James 5:16; confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much(KJV)
