Female scientist respond to Noble prize winner statement that they are distraction to male scientist

Biochemist, Nobel Prize-winning scientist and British laureate, Tim Hunt who was a speaker at the World Conference of Science Journalists in South Korea, this week caused a firestorm in his statement saying hat female scientists should be segregated from male colleagues because women cry when criticized and are a romantic distraction in the laboratory.

“Let me tell you about my trouble with girls,” he was reported as saying. “Three things happen when they are in the lab: You fall in love with them, they fall in love with you, and when you criticize them, they cry.” Said Tim

 Though 72-year-old Tim later apologised, saying his comments were meant to be lighthearted, calling himself a “chauvinist pig,” and has resigned as honorary professor at University College London. His statement has caused female scientist around the world awoken.
